If you are 1/4th native american that means you are border for tribel coulsel right? |
In order for the tribes to take over your kids in the court system do they have to be 1/4th native or just you? what is the metis? Your child must be an enrolled tribal member or enrollable to fall under the jurisdiction of tribal courts. Blood quantum is all dependent upon the tribe of enrollment and may or may not be important. It varies by tribe. In the Cherokee tribe, you can be as little as 1/32, I think. Also you have to be on the rolls. even check into the metis. |
