Can I legally sell marine combat clothing and equipment?

my husband has been physically violent towards me for the past 8 years. I am finally getting up the nerve to leave him. We have two children together and I need to take them out of this situation asap. I have no money to leave on though. He has all of this military issued equipment. It is very expensive stuff. I know there are a lot of marines right now that just came back from Iraq, and need to turn in their equipment and are missing a few things. My husband is staying on base right now because of the things he has done to me. I can't get any financial help right now through his command, but all of his things are in my garage. I don't know what to do about getting the money to leave. All I want to do is sell maybe one or two of his issued things. Does anyone know if that is legal? I mean, not to sell my husband's things...but to sell military issued equipment...??? He wont need any of it because he is getting discharged. And he will have to pay back the money for the missing items.

nothing is used. Brand new. He was suppose to be deploying this month, but not anymore. They issued these things to him all new.

Do searches on eBay for ended auctions for similar items. You may get more money for it on there. Also, you may want to try Craigslist if you live in a militarised town.

id be very careful and not leave a paper trail, try ex military stores, they would take these items, and costume stores for the clothes, they are fairly popular. dont know for sure if its legal but i do know its done and that there are shops who sell these 'used' goods to the public. (in australia)
