GED in jail? |
I know this may sound stupid, but does anyone know if you can get your GED in jail if you already have your High School diploma? (Actually I have a BD degree too, however, I heard you can get time reduced if you do get your GED? - Indiana) I feel I need to clarify some things! I am not a convict of any felony or serious crime! I also DO have the choice between the military or jail. The judge suspended my probation and gave me 60 days to enlist or I will be put back on probation and have to serve the jail sentence. So, In theory, I guess it still is the 60's! And yes, the military does want me. I am a High Grad, with a college degree and I passed the ASVAB with a score of 93 and all of my line scores over 125. Getting your GED in jail only helps reduce your sentence if you don't already have it; the purpose being to show that your willing to improve yourself (in theory). If you have the choice of military service or jail (which i don't think you would, i agree, not the 60's anymore), then you should go with the military for the benefits, and also to not have a felony record that will follow you to every job you every apply for. No; you won't be able to get your GED in jail if you already have a diploma. Who says that you can pick the army or jail? This isn't the 60's when people escape to the army, if that actually happens. |
