If you were me, would you contact VA, US military or Social Security for a scooter?

I am 63 and have drawn Social Security since I was 62. I am a military retiree and Viet-nam vet. I have a VA disabilty rating of 10%. For about a year, I have had back spasms which MRIs and Xrays concluded that I have herniated discs and arthristis, anong other things.

Walking or standing for 5 minutes is like torture..

I certainly think you would qualify, and it would give you back a lot of your quality of life. If your doctor says you need it, what's the downside? The worst that can happen is that they turn you down. And even then, you might receive partial reimbursement. Go for it!

I doubt 10% would qualify you for a scooter. This is usually a Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement item. All the commercials I see for them state that you MAY receive the unit for little or no out of pocket money.

yes i would my dad is much younger than you are and is contemplating getting one, ive heard you can get them for very little money:)

Sure would
