Small claims court scra?

I filed a case in small claims and if the defendent doensn't show I still need to prove that he isn't in the military in order to have a default judgement rendered. I'm 99% sure he isn't because he's mid 50's but I still need to prove it. There's a website to look for this but it requires a ssn or birth date. There's no way I can get this info so it's a catch 22 but I know others must have dealt with this. Any help?
