Please Read!!! Medical Malpractice? |
In one of my classes we are studying medical malpractice and this story was brought to my attention and it is heart breaking. Military is not allowed to sue the government for medical malpractice. How do yall feel about this? I think this is horrible and a disgrace! If the VA hospitals we have experienced are any indication, the government would be bankrupt if people could sue. I don't think any business, government or other entity should be exempt from law suits, if warranted. I think it's silly. The key term is "incidental to their service." They can't sue for something related to their service in the Armed Forces. It's unfortunate that they consider having medical treatment (by an Armed Forces physician as required) as incidental to their service. I hope the law is changed to exclude medical malpractice issues. And some folks in this country want to go to Universal Healthcare??? This is what they'd be getting: bad care and no recourse. |
