Example of a mediation group?

Can someone give me an example of a mediation company or a group that might specialize in mediation. Also what are some reasons a company might need mediation? Where can one go to look for mediation companies nationally, and even internationally?

JAMS -- Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Service
AAA -- American Arbitration Service, also does mediation

Mediation is basically structured negotiations. The mediator acts as a referee and facilitator, helping opposing sides talk and discuss options -- and hopefully, helping them to reach a mutually acceptable settlement.

The advantage of mediation is that it is voluntary.
The disadvantage of mediation is that it is voluntary.

In other words -- the settlement is still up to the parties, and can be anything that they mutually agree on -- but if the parties cannot mutually agree, then nothing gets settled.

American Arbitration Association. A company would hire a mediation group to resolve disputes with employees or customers. Search google for "mediation companies" or "arbitration and mediation"

Ther are plenty of firms and individual attorneys that specialize in mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution. You need to see an attorney in your area that knows local mediators and their skills. In my experience mediation is most successful after litigation has commenced.

Most mediation is done with the parties involved and either a retired judge or some lawyers doing the meditating and if that fails then there is arbitration and then finally if that is not agreeable with the parties a law suit.
