How do I tell judge that I need another month to pay a $50 court fine with out being held in contempt?

I cant pay my court fine right now. Is there a form to use? The fine is for missing my Mediation appointment. However I was late by 15 minuets. Its not my fault though becuase the buses dont run anywhere near the time of my appointment and I had to walk 1/2 a mile to the location.

ya knew all that, and shoulda left sooner. 1/2 a mile, whats that? 10 minutes? dont tell the judge that, inless he asks...offer 10$ and ask for more time....or to suspend the balance.....

Do you want some cheese with that whine? You sound pathetic. "the busses don't run anywhere close to that time. WA!" Grow up! You should have been the on the early buss. It's clear why you can't put your hands on $50 it because you blame others for your life. Take control, grow up and get a job.

You can call the courts and ask for the extension. If you are really hurting for money you can ask if they can let you work it off, normally this offer should be made at the time of a court date.

you have to appear before the judge to request an extension in most states.and they usually grant it if you are broke,so plead with the court,if you don't pay after the time you were granted you have to go back in front of the judge.
it's less trouble to just borrow the fifty bucks and get it over with.

Try this.
It is a method I have used and works more times than not.
When you are in front of the judge say this:
"Your Honor. I need another month to pay a $50 court fine with out being held in contempt. Sir, if I may, what do you think is the best thing for me to do"?
It might work!
Or, you could borrow the money and be done with it!
