I work for a company in London that get the mobiles of CEO of big companies lying, is that legal?? |
My company call other companies based in France, Belgium, Spain, UK; etc... this are very big and famous companies with a minimum turnover of 100million pounds. What my company does is use the name of one person of the other company (normally someone of the board of directors) to get the mobile of the CEO. To do this they threatened the secretaries and PA saying things like "you know who I am you want to be sacked" until they get the mobile of the CEO and can use it to sell things to him or her directly. Is it that legal??? Because at least is not ethic; isnt it? It is not unlawful to ask for and obtain anyone's mobile 'phone number. So if the PA gave it out knowingly and willingly, even if the person whose mobile no. you obtained had not authorised her to do so, it's still not unlawful. I doubt that it is illegal, however, it seems clearly unethical to me. After all, this may result in someone else getting disciplined or even fired. Totally illegal. Report them anonymously to the police, MI5 or interpol...whoever you feel most comfortable with. This is a deception and you are liable as you work for them.......it is called blackmail!!! It is also know as 'gaining goods and services by deception'. hi there call the police but ask them to keep your name from your company so you will stay anonymous. An investigation will take place and either that company will be fined or it will be under new management. I wouldn't say it is illegal but a complaint of harrassment could be brought about. Also, those are some weak secretaries and PAs if they would hand over ANY information just because a bunch of tools marketing crap "threatened" them..... It's amazing what people will say when they're hiding behind a phone, or keyboard, or cabinet. It is possibly illegal, worthy of an injunction order and heavy fine I'm guessing. It's also scummy. Very scummy. |
