Litigation against landlord? |
I have a yr lease and found out that my landlord was in danger of losing the house about six months ago. She was quite threatening to me as if I had done something wrong. She went on to list the house and I was repeatedly inconvienienced with realtors and inspectors wanting to gain access. When I was less than accomidating with these intrusions, she threatened me with eviction. I was concerned that she might succeed in kicking me out so I tried to help when I could. Now my lease is up and I am out of that mess but as a final blow, she turned off my water on the last day which resulted in no shower, use of toilet or ability to properly clean house. Now that this woman has no way to hurt me, I want to take her to court for what ever monetary damages the judge sees fit to assess. Do I have a case? Man I'll tell you what to do and there ain't a darn thing that she can do about it Most leases have a clause allowing the landlord access to the apartment under limited circumstances, often including showings if the building is to be sold. I would start by checking your lease carefully. Sorry you do not. Once in my life, I had a situation like that and I moved into a better location and I try to forget the nad experience. I would just go on with your life and forget the bad experience. |
