Anything to do about problem guest in apartments? |
I live in a very small apartment community (about 7 apartments) and one of my neighbors has a guest come over often who is a nuisance to many of the neighbors. I don't think this guy is doing anything illegal, but he is very loud and talks a lot of crap to many neighbors including me. I don't have a problem with the neighbor, only the guest. I know that he should be able to have whoever he wants come over, but this guy makes many neighbors feel uncomfortable and is a nuisance with his loudness. He tries to act "gangster" and is always singing rap songs loudly and talking his gangster talk loudly. Is there anything that we can do that would make him stop coming over? One of the neighbors told me she's going to write a letter to the landlord, but I'm wondering if the police can do anything? Thank you. PS- Even if the neighbor writes the letter, I doubt the landlord will do anything, she's very 'hands-off' about issues in the complex. If I'm not mistaken, that individual is disturbing the peace. If he becomes aggressive, the cops may even search him, and if they find drugs on him he's going to prison. Such is the "gangster" life. I suspect that Dale Carnegie's old, but great book, "How to win friends and influence people," probably has a chapter on this. Yes, the police can handle this type of situation. Your neighbor needs to have some respect for you guys, though. How would she feel if the situation was reversed. |
