| *Home>>>Landlord and Tenants |
I am renting out my house and I was told that, legally in the state of CA, I am responsible for water/garbage? |
(I'm making it that the tenant is responsible for all utilities.) I've never heard of any such laws. Any suggestions? The bills for water and garbage automatically go to the property owner. They are required to be paid. The problem with trying to transfer them over to the tenant is that if the tenant doesn't pay, you are the one who gets in trouble for not paying. For this reason alone, it is best to factor these costs into the monthly rent and then take care of those bills yourself. |
