My landlord of 6 years is has not been paying her part of a bill what should i do? |
I've been living in the same house for 6 almost 7years. at the beginning of the lease signing, the landlord signed where it says " owner pays for trash" " tenant pays for water, sewer, & electricity". problem is,I've been paying for the garbage & trash (that what it says on the water bill ) for all the years I've been living there...the complete bill has been coming to me and I've paid it. the gargage & trash runs from $104-$111 every 3 months. what are my legal rights in this matter? I don't plan on staying here when my lease is up. I'm still paying the bill . the bill has her name on it ( i never changed it when i moved in and she OK'd that) it has my name on it though: landlord name C/o tenant name. I have proof from the water company that the bill has been coming here, and no duplicate bill has been mailed anywhere else. she has another house on the block that she pays garbage and trash for,but not this house. somone.....help? I've spoken to her about it,have showed her proof like she requested. her reply was, that's not what she's suppose to pay,it's something else, but she has yet to provide the documents to back up her answer. call judge judy this is exactly the kind of thing that is on those t.v. shows talk to her about it Speak with her about it. If this does not work, you could try to sue in small claims court. |
