What can I do about this situation? |
At the office we have a cork board with pictures of the people who work here. I recently put up a picture of me and someone has vandalize it by puncturing my eyes, and my forehead with a thumb tack. I didn't let it bother me at first but now it's been poked on the teeth and nose and other face areas. I don't know who is doing this and I don't know what to do about it. I just wrote a letter to the manager but I'm finding it hard to find legal grounds to claim hostile work environment. Can anyone help me with this one? I usually don't cry wolf (harassment, hostile environment, etc) unless I have clear legal definitions. However, I'm finding it hard to precedent in California Labor Laws about things like this. Is there anything else I can do besides telling the manager the vandalization of my photo is making me uncomfortable? Take your photo down to prevent further damage. Its obvious that someone doesn't like you, and who cares? There will always be someone at work that you may not see eye to eye with, and the good part is that you do not come to work to make friends, you go there to WORK. This person is trying to get to you, and it's working. You need to brush it off, and act like it doesnt bother you. Someone is either being childish or has some grudge against you! Take the picture down, but note if this person starts tampering with any of your belongings that you take to work. Watch out for your car too! Flat tires, scratches etc! Are you the only one who has beendefaced?? Just be careful WHO you speak to, and keep an eye out for anyone you may have annoyed!! If you've already told the manager about the issue, I'd just take the photo down. Then nobody can poke anymore holes in it and you don't have to worry about it. Primates, take a hint and remove your picture, some one does not like your attitude and is your enemy, |
