New motorcycle law in florida is controversial?

Last time i checked, raising the price of gas from $3 to $4 in a day was considered price gouging and illegal.

So how come florida can, in one day, raise the price of a motorcycle license from 30 minutes of labor and $15 to 10 Hours of labor and $230
overnight?

They require you to take a motorcycle course from a third party to obtain your license, and then they don't even test you at the DMV, basically they do not care who they put on the road, they just want to collect the money (they charge a fee from the third parties).

Your also not allowed to get learners permits anymore.

Last time I checked I was living in a democracy, I never saw anywhere to vote for or against this new law.

They cover it up by saying it will prevent accidents. What it looks like is a way to keep people using cars and spending more on fuel (since they are making alot of money on fuel nowadays).

I thought laws were designed to protect us, not generate revenue.

Any thoughts on this?

When tax revenue that has it's origin at the Federal level is reduced, the states have no other alternative but to generate those missing dollars on, or at the local level. Have you thanked little georgie bush today for your tax breaks?
Things are going to get worse for those of us here in Floridah, soon the tax revenue that we have been accustom to from the annual migration of the Snow Birds will be reduced, already real estate tax revenue has declined thanks to the economy, as well as tax generated at the gas pumps throughout the state. Yes we all need to thank the PNAC and what they have done to the countries economy. "Trickle down economics" is just more bushit.

They should test them.

Motorcycles are very dangerous. And most bikers don't wear helmets. It's crazy! there's no good reason to ride those monsters. let's ban them.

you need to get out of that state.
