Thoughts, opinions or experience with filing a complaint with the Dept of Labor against employer..appreciated?

My best advice would be to be cautious in doing so. Unless you have a very valid complaint (and not something that's merely a technicality), you may get little to no help from the DOL, and this kind of thing has a way of getting around, thus making it very difficult for you to find a job in the future. What employer would hire you if he/she thought you would turn them in for some minor violation?

The rest of this applies if the complaint is of a fairly minor nature; if there is serious misconduct, do report it. If you're still employed with the company, take it up with your manager or HR. If it's resolved, then let it die. If not, you'll have to make the decision to stay or leave. If you were terminated, you're probably better served just moving on.
