Where can I find information about Ohio labor laws and if something in the workplace is legal or not? |
I have been searching for a while but haven't had any luck finding what I am looking for. Someone told me that when your job has mandatory training that you have to get, that you're supposed to get paid for that. I was just trying to find out if that is true or not. Thank you. It depends; if the training is something that is solely for the use of the employer, then yes. If it is training that you can "take with you"; in other words use at another job; then probably not. BUT they had to inform you of that before your hire. That is a nutshell version. There might be state laws prohibiting unpaid training. or case law in that state. the devil is in the details; like most law. This might be a little help: |
