Consumer's right on an auto repair job gone bad.?

What are the rights of a consumer if the repair job done by an auto dealership didn't fix the problem. The car is doing the same thing as it was when it went in for the repair. Should I take it back to the same dealership and have them do the job right and do I have to pay for labor and or parts again since the first job wasn't done correctly?

This is in the State of North Carolina.

I have no idea of what country you live in.

I live in California, and here we have the Bureau of Auto Repair.

I would take the car back to the dealership. Tell them they didn't fix it. If they want to charge you again, tell them you will take them to the BAR, or whatever similar agency you have in your community.

Unfortunately, what usually happens, is they tell you that you NEEDED the parts they replaced, and now you need something else. Whenever you have parts replaced, always insist on getting your old parts back when the job is finished. That way you always have evidence if they replaced something that was actually working properly.

I never have repair work done at a dealership. They don't have much investment in doing a good job repairing your car when they are in business to SELL cars.
