Are you entitled to the fruits of someone elses labor and why?

No one in our society can earn money without a huge, largely invisible web of societal support. And for a small minority who earn millions of dollars a year, no person could reasonably suggest that those people earn based on their own efforts. Instead, we reward people for their connections, for their parentage, and for sitting back and allowing the truly talented to do their work for them.

Am I entitled to the fruit of someone else's labor? Not really, no. Am I entitled to a piece of the income of someone who did nothing to earn it other than exploit societal mechanisms? Sure, why not.

Yes, by contract, explicit or implied. Of course contract theory only addresses entitlement, not the power or ability to enforce or resist the entitlement, which is political.

Employers are entitled to the fruits of the labor of its employees. This is because there is a written or implied Employment Contract whereby the employee receives compensation and is relieved of certain liabilities, insurances and taxes in return for his obedience and the fruits of his labor.

Nations are entitled to the fruits of the labor of its citizens. This is because there is a Social Contract whereby the citizen receives the sovereign's protection (which may include healthcare as well as an army) and all of the benefits of the laws and infrastructure in exchange for his obedience to the laws, payment of taxes and conscription.

Your citizenship, even if acquired at birth is sufficient to cause you to owe allegiance to your sovereign nation. The fact that you have not left the country is sufficient evidence of your continued assent to this contract.

If you are a strict constitutionalists then the answer is a definite NO you or anyone else living in the USA is not entitled to "social
welfare" not one dime! From the Federal Government ! No where in the Constitution does it mention the word "socialistic" form of government. Politicians have distorted and stretched the original intent and exact meaning to fit their needs not societies! If it were not for welfare and the "myth" of racism the Democratic Party would almost cease to exist.
