Do you agree with child labor laws?

I believe a child at 14 should be able to small, simple jobs just so they can start to learn responsibilities early and so the parents don't have to give out money for the kid to go out and have fun.

The answer is 'NO'. Had it been legal for me to get a job, a real paying job at 13 I'd have been gone, gone, gone from under my parents roof! How many people know why we have 'Child Labor Laws' anyway? The morons and Democrats think it has to do with 'Protecting the Children'. History however, clearly shows that the real reason was that child labor drove down the price of labor for adults the same way immigrant labor does today! The proof is that this was not an issue until the industrial revolution and is still not an issue in agrarian economies.

No I don't. So many kids are ready and willing to work at 14 and we destroy their drive to achieve and succeed by denying them the right to develop their own independence and work ethic. What a backwards system we have. We wait until the child has developed an attitude against the system and then tell them they need to stop playing and get a job from 16 to 18. The Government needs to repeal this archaic law.

Of course children should be a certain age when they work and it should only be certain types of work that won't harm the child.And it should be limited to a certain amount of hours so children are still going to school.Children shouldn't be exploited by their parents.
