Is this right? What would you do?

I have worked for my boss for almost 7 years now,(roofer) back then he was small time, now he is a lot bigger than then. My ? is that he takes out 20% of my check every week and this is not for taxes, because I use his tools, ie. ladder and grinder for flash work. For his taxes, he list me as the sole employee, and making salary, which I don't. today is April 4 and I still have not recieved my taxes yet, What would YOU do if you were me? I have already tried the Labor Relations Board, they were closed.

He should have given you your W-2 tax forms well over two months ago. I would seriously contact that IRS and let them know whats going. After that I would start looking for another roofing job. A 20% charge to use his equipment is absurd.

I would find another job.

If it were me, I would take my pay stubs and anything else that he gives you and find myself a good lawyer. He is screwing you bad. Get yourself areal job. Call the I.R.S. they are never closed.

An employer may not make ANY deduction from an employee's pay check, except for legitimate government deductions, unless the employee agrees in writing.

You should not be charged by your employer to use his tools, that's part of his cost of business. And even if you were, 20% is insane. You're being robbed. Contact the labour relations board asap.

Sounds like a compansionate conservative, report him to the IRS.
