Child labor laws...?

does anyone know the child labor laws for new york and how many hours you can work when your under 18 on the weekdays and weekends?

thanks!

Looked in the New York sites, didn't see the actual hours permissible in that state, with the exception if the child is 16 or 17 and not in school, can work full time.

Depends on the age.

The Federal Guidelines are that someone aged 16 or older can work only 5 hours per day on a school day, and it has to be after 3pm, and no later than 10pm. On a weekend, someone aged 16 or older can work 8 hours, but no more, and can't work past 10pm. A minor (under 18) can't work more than 20 hours (I think - there is a specific amount of hours) per week.

Go to your state's dept of labor website - this should be on there for you. Your place of employment should also have posters stating all of this for you to see/read. Again, these are the Federal guidelines, and at times, states can alter these restrictions.
