Help with labor laws in Texas. Attention lawyers, etc.? |
Okay, I need help understanding the Texas Child Labor Laws. I've looked at them on various places on the internet, but still can't answer my question. I would think it would be ok as long as the hours are not during school hours or after 9pm .. Some of the concerns would be that the teen would not be able to give away promotional items that include controlled substances (beer, liquor, etc). Yes, it's legal, as long as the child is not working between the hours of 10pm-5am on a school night or midnight-5am any other night. There are some restrictions on what kinds of jobs children may do, but children even younger than 14 can work as actors (that includes radio work). If the child were younger than 14, there would be a form that had to be filled out: http://www.twc.state.tx.us/ui/lablaw/llc... |
