Do you think that the big corporations are selling out the USA for cheap labor?

It seems as if nothing I buy anymore is made in the USA by American workers. I bought a box of lead pencils yesterday and sure enough they had come from China. If our jobs aren't exported then these companies are allowed to hire illegal immigrants, with the feeble excuse that the illegal had a phony ID. Even professionals are being hired. Engineers are being imported from India and other countries. This is probably an effort to flood the labor market so wages can be lowered. Is this glutinous appetite for cheap labor going to place the USA in economic, and military disaster?

Absolutely.

Also, the big finance corps are selling out our futures for bigger profit margins.

Due to increased credit interest rates, the ever decreasing good jobs here and our paid for life government employees, our country is headed into a depression the likes we have not seen in decades.

Hang on folks, it is going to be a bumpy ride.

yes

"Our jobs"?

First of all, they're not YOUR jobs or MY jobs. Those jobs belong to the people who own the companies and invested the capital to create them. Nobody can steal anything from you that wasn't yours to begin with, all right?

Have you ever left one job because you were offered another job that pays more or provides better benefits? Is that wrong? Now let's reverse that. When a company goes overseas or hires cheaper workers in the United States, it's because they're getting a better deal, just like you want to get a better deal on your end. Are you a traitor to America if you leave an American-owned company for a company that isn't American owned and pays more? I just want to test the limits of your arguments. If you're not prepared to stay at a dead-end, crappy job for your country, then you can't reasonably expect a company to do so. Their bottom line is profit and I guarantee that yours is, too. And that's okay! Don't begrudge them the same success you demand for yourself.

You should work to make yourself more marketable to employers. You need to be more adaptable. You don't need to fear competition if you have something to offer employers. And if you really want to stop companies from going overseas, then write to your Congresspersons about tax incentives / tax breaks to companies and the deregulation of business. That's why these companies are fleeing - because they're so overburdened by union, environmental, and other types of regulation, as well as taxation, that they just can't succeed in this economy.

Yes. Look up each states minimum wage. Kansas has no set minimum wage, which is averaged at about $2 an hour as the norm. Mostly agriculture is in Kansas, which Bush preaches is the jobs Americans don't want to work. Bet Kansas is a hot spot. Its dead center in the U.S..

This is very very stupid. Corporations should not get tax cuts. If they don't like it, then they can get the f out. Are we seriously that dependent on corporations that we would come to their beckoning? Screw that. Since when do corporations come before Americans?

Another example of corporatism.

How about not tax Americans and only tax Corporations? The populace will have the extra money from not paying taxes to spend at Wally World. I like this idea. This way I'll know exactly where my tax money is going and if its being put to proper use.

Yes ! And not just the US but the UK as well !

It started off , with Polish workers , coming to our Country , and stealing our jobs....and now some of those factories , that employed those Poles are moving to Poland....both times putting Brits out of work !

First they steal our jobs !

Then they steal our job providers !

Our economies are being taken apart , literally , by Cheap Labour , encouraged by Greedy Manufacturers.....and it is costing us our jobs.....but we still have our High Rents and Mortgages to pay .......a direct result of Marketing forces.....where the demand for accomodation exceeded the supply of accomodation ......and resulted in corresponding increases in rents , mortgage repayments and property value increases ( temporarily ) !

A whole Generation , have been denied access to work , whilst going through College , owing to Imported Cheap Labour stealing that work......and a whole lot of workers, have been put out of work, due to the attractiveness , of the economic benefits , of employing cheaper labour to employers !

I never really understood Economics before....but it is amazing , what you can learn , when it affects you directly !

I have been replaced twice and lost two jobs.....being replaced on both occasions by 2 Qualified Vets , doing my Meat Inspection job....for which they are not qualified , have no experience and have no pride or quality standard in their work !

The standard of their work is abysmal....they don't care about passing meat fit for human consumption , because this is not their mother country.....and will not affect their own families or friends.....and as there are Imported workers in the supervisory roles.....who will not tell their own country fellows off.....the circle is complete !

On paper, it looks good....2 Vets replacing one Meat Inspector......in reality......it is a backward step in so many ways ! Quality of product.....Safety of product.....Quality of Inspection.....Safety of Inspection....Quality of Management.....Safety of Management......Reputation of Product....both Long and Short Term......Loss of expertise......as I and other workers are forced to seek other types of work , in order to pay our bills....which have risen , due to the importation of these workers willing to work for peanuts.....because those peanuts , turn to gold.....when they go back to their own countries...where they are virtual millionaires ....with those same Golden peanuts !
