Labor law- how many paid breaks do you get?

Most are mandated by state law. A general rule of thumb is 4hrs - one 10 minute break

6 hrs - one 10 minute break, 1/2 hour paid or unpaid meal break

8 hrs - 2 ten minute breaks, 1/2 hour meal break, paid or unpaid.

ONLY if you are minor are you entitled to ANY breaks at all unless you live in CA, CO, KY, MN, NV, OR or WA. If you are an adult and do not live in one of the above states you are not legally required to get a break even if you work 12 or more hours straight. Report It

Depends upon the state in which you reside. Every state is different.

The Federal law doesn't address the issue; rather leaves it to each states Department of Labor to do it.
