They say labors up by 16, then they say its coalition 47, labor 53....why?

16 point i mean, and 47 and 53 percent i mean

Depends on which poll and whether it's 2 party preferred or actual direct percentages for each party.
At the moment in the latest newspoll the two party preferred is labor 58% and coalition 42%, the 16% lead you are referring to. Then you have the primary vote which is currently labor 51% and coalition 38%, a lead of 13%. The difference is the rough allocation of preferences from minor parties, which usually flows as per the two party preferred and which means on the latest figures the election would be a labor landslide.
The 47 - 53 figure was from a recent Galaxy poll which was way out of kilter with all the others. This can happen as it is polling with a very small sample and is subject to the laws of probability and as such you can accidentally have the odd skewed poll.

Well its a fancy way of saying out with the old and in with the new, go Kevin !!!!!

I am more surprised that so many people give truthful answers in opinion polls.
In UK constitueny system, a small % change in the votes of 1,000 undecided citizens in a few 'marginal' seats can make a big change to how many MPs each party gets, and so forms the largest party and tries to govern. I mean it is a maths problem of multiplication.
