Labor Laws in California? i dont know about breaks (paid, unpaid? etc.)?


if you work less than 8 hours how much break are you allowed and how much of it is paid? same for working over 8 hours? help! im trying to get the money i deserve for working so much over the holidays. i need to have counted my hours exactly!! i suspect my boss of cheating my hours! HELP! websites please so i can print it out and SHOW HIM!!! thanks so much, all help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

check out the Dept of Labor website, it has some useful information if you look around.

if you work 8hrs you get two 10min breaks and a half hour lunch. If you work more than 4 hrs but less than 8 you get one break and lunch, if you work 4hrs or less you just get a break.

Check out the front of your phone book you should find a guide to labor relations & web site you can visit.
