Labor laws for 15 year old? |
how many hours can a 15 year old work during one shift? and how many hours for the whole week? i live in Minnesota Minnesota law: It depends largely on the state you are in. A 15 year old can work for 8 hours but must be approved by the Department of Labor. You are talking about in the U.S.? It depends on whether or not school is on right now. I assume the teen is in school right now. A fifteen year old may not work more than 3 hours on a school day or 18 hours in a school week. Depends on your state, or where you live... I know that in mine they must have working papers, can't work more than 20 hours during the school year, not after 10:00 pm, not before 6:00 am, on the weekends can work any shift as long as between 6am and 10pm as many hours as desired.
