can someone be fired without some kind of hearing, for making some kind of a sexual remark to a woman coworker? Absolutely. Um, without a hearing? That doesn't sound ethical to me. Of course people get fired for all kinds of reasons, including gossip and innuendo, but that doesn't mean it's the legal or moral thing to do -- to besmirch someone's reputation and get him or her fired without a hearing.
