If you are 17, on no workers permit cause your to old and don't need one, and you are in school do your employers have the right to cut your hours without telling you cause you got a bad grade. I don't think so but I am not sure cause my mom used to tell my boss if I had a bad grade since we worked for the same person and he would mysteriously come up to me and say my hours are being cut not saying why. I mean if I am not on a workers permit cause I grown out of the age qualifications then school should have no impact or say with your work. Where I come from-STL the workers permit age does not exceed 16. Once you are sixteen you are off of it and don't need one. An employer can cut your hours for bad grades if he wants regardless of your permit status. He has the right to do what ever he wants as long as it is not illegal, and cutting hours of his employees where he pays the bills is not illegal. You have a choice to accept the shorter hours or go somewhere else to work. Good luck. if ur still at school at 17 then ur still required to have a work permit, at least thats how it works where i'm from.... as for cutting your hours for a bad grade, that seems a little stupid. |
