What labor law says about closed shop? It depends on which state you live in. Federal labor law only covers federal job sites, everything else is based on state law. Doesn't that mean you cannot work there unless you belong to the union? In our place, the labor law does not have any provisions about closed shop agreements. However, it allows it unless all the parties involve agreed to be governed by said agreement. Check you state to determine if it is a "right to work" state, whereby you do not have to be a dues paying member to work. Not sure...I would consult a lawyer.
