Fake Labor flyers?

How many of you are sickened, but not really surprised, by the depths some Liberal candidates will sink to?

Jackie Kelly knew nothing about her partner arranging for and distributing those leaflets.

Yeah, right!

Seemingly, according to some reports, they were picked up from her home.

This is the new low in political dirt and I truly hope voters see it for what it is. Shame there was no Tampa or Children Overboard to hang the hat on. Let's just get down and dirty instead and then make it out to be a bit of a joke.

Very dirty tactics and shameful behaviour!

It probably sounds very naive, but yes, I was both shocked and surprised. I was, and am, still quite angry but I guess my underlying cynicism won out ~ the shock and surprise wore off once I started thinking about the situation!

After a decade of blatant public lying, with John Howard demanding harsh penalties for anyone who isn't a member of HIS team if they are caught out, but making excuses for his people if they are ~ from Peter Reith (Tampa), to the cash bail out of his brother's business, to the South Aussie woman who used her travel allowance to go overseas with her boyfriend by claiming he was a staff member, Howard has found an excuse for them all.

He lied to us about weapons of mass destruction, he lied to us about Saddam Hussein, he lied about how many troops would be sent to Iraq, he lied about his ties to radical right wing religious organisations like the so-called "Exclusive" Brethren and the Catch the Fire Ministries, he lied about the Pacific 'solution', he lied about GST, he lied about the greenhouse effect, he lied about the detention centres, he has even lied about the economy!

He's taken his cue from the big time professional liars and cover-uppers in the US ~ Cheney, Rumsfield, Perle ... he even sent his son over there to learn the 'tricks' and introduce them here.

The rot starts at the top! Even if Howard didn't sanction this pamphlet business, he's spent over a decade creating an environment in which such behaviour is seen as an aceptable tactic if you are on the 'right' side, just like torturing prisoners is OK is it's "US" who are doing it (of course it's very very wrong if others do it).

In John Howard's world, the only sin, it seems, is getting caught. So why wouldn't a bunch of his hench-idiots feel it's perfectly OK to plan to publish a scurrilous pamphlet, attach a false name to it, distribute it widely, and no-doubt have a good laugh if it caused real trouble for an organisation or even innocent individuals.

Yep, it's got "Howard's Australia" written all over it.

Australia, you're standing in it!

Cheers :-)

Politics is a dirty game and fake flyers can be distributed anytime to discredit a party. Thus, be on guard for bad campaign tactics.

They're getting desperate especially this close to the election. Everything is coming down on them. DoCS looks like a mess, City Rail got screamed at because of the fares going up, Work Choices.. what work choices?

I think that even the Liberal party knows they're not going to win this election so they're jumping ship hoping that they'll be able to get a spot with Labor if they show they're sympathetic to them now.

it's disgusting and even though I have very little regard for John Howard... I can't help but feel a LITTLE sorry for him in this matter .... as I can't imagine him approving of something like this

I mean WHAT fools these people were.. How stupid were they.

BUT more that being foolish and stupid ... these people have behaved so offensively... taking a tragedy like the Bali Bombings and attempting to use a nation's grief to score votes.. absolutely vile pathetic and as I wrote earlier DISGUSTING...

if I were a Liberal supporter .. I would be absolutely furious at these morons ...
I would be JUST as disgusted if some supporters of the Labor party pulled a similiar trick.
