If as a juvenile you recieved a few minor consumption charges, did probation and finished that and turned 18.?

Then when you were almost 19 got another minor consumption, can they hold your juvenile record against you in MN? I thought a juvenile record was sealed when you turned 18?

Most states have provisions allowing a juvenile record to be sealed after the person becomes an adult, but it may not be automatic, and it may not be until the person is 21.

In Texas if you do not get into any trouble after you are an adult, your juvenile record is not available after you are 24. So if you get into more trouble between abe 18 and 24 your juvenile record is available for consideration as to what the appropriate sentence will be.

I would guess that you will receive a stricter sentence for another minor in consumption charge, because it will not be viewed as a first offense. So what ever the range of punishment is you will get hit with something from the higher end.

Good Luck

Another Urban Myth, just like you can't hit someone under 18, dies a sudden death during an introduction to the real world.

The laws vary state to state. Some seal the criminal records of everything people under 18 commit. Some seal partial criminal records, and other states don't seal anything.

However, the federal government doing back ground checks are entitled to everything regardless of state law. Federal Law is superior to State Laws.

Juvenile court records may be sealed, but your arrest record is always there.

An an arrest record is looked at by law enforcement and federal and state government when doing a back ground check. That includes the military. It NEVER goes away.

NEVER lie about it, as they will find out and you are out.

So you are 19 and find that you need to start knowing things about the law that no one but a lawyer wants to know. This consumption problem that you have . . . doing anything about it? or are you waiting for the charges to start getting more interesting? like DUI, then hit and run, then manslaughter. I'm just asking, 'cause I have a crystal ball.
