Can I become a cop with felonies on my juvenile record?

I was wondering if I could become a cop, I got in trouble with the law when I was 14, and was charged with 3 felonies and a couple misdemeanors in Nevada. My probation officer said that my record would be clean when I turned 18 which I am now, but I have heard that my record won't get cleared, and with felonies I know I can't be a cop. Thanks for your time.

You will be asked about your ENTIRE criminal history. Best to be open and honest.

If I were you, I'd try to start in corrections and see if you can get some experience and good recommendations. Being a COP is very competitive and many departments require a bachelors degree too.

Get an education and some experience, even if it is in security and STAY OUT OF TROUBLE.

Your best bet is to check with your current state laws. I know for careers in the medical field, a felony will prohibit you from that career - so its possible I guess. If you have in writing that your record would be sealed, or any proof of it, I would contact an attorney if it has not been done.

A lot of Cops have juvenile records (I know a few). I don't know if there is a limit to how many felonies or not. But I hope you get the opportunity to. It's great to see you have changed your life around! More power to you!
