What age can you be sent jail and not a juvenile detention center? |
I live in Australia so if you know what it is for here please tell me.If you live somewhere else please tell me too. 16, during your court date, if the offense is serious enough. the DA usaully will ask if it be ok to charge you in an adult court. You can procede to remain in a juvenile court system or accept your crime and become an adult. the session will usually be called to an end if you accept as all new paper work will need to be filled I live in Kansas and it really depends on what your being sent to jail for. If it's murder than it's whatever age you are. But usually it's 18. In the USA after you turn 18 you go to jail instead of being juvenile. I think thats how it goes. 17 |
