Does your juvenile record get tranfered to your adult record?? |
in 2005, I think I was 15, I kicked a detective and got asult on an officer a felony. now I'm almost 19, and I called my old PO to ask her if it was only on my juvenile record and she said that it got transfered to my adult record coz it was on a derferred and it got revoked. she said that on 12/14/2010 I can fill out papers to get it sealed. I typed my name in on the criminalsearches.com and my name didn't show up, so I dunno if maybe she was lieing of if the website is stupid. ???? Okay, 1) Your record will never be erased. It can be sealed, which is different. Sealed record can be unsealed in the future for special circumstances, so this felony will always be there, it just won't be read unless needed. 2) You have to request your record be sealed - the age you can do that differs from state to state, but is usually 21. 3) You don't have the right to a sealed record, it's up to the judge and depends on your current circumstances, your history, and other charges in your record. 4) Your juvenile charge cannot be sealed if your punishment lasted through till you were an adult. when you were 15, were you tried as an adult? if so, that might have a role playing here.. As for the website, I went to the government's sex offender website, and found a couple of individuals--I typed them into your link listed, and all came back as negative. Again, I got these people's names right off the sex offender list--they ARE criminals, and they didn't show up. I'd say the website is bogus to a certain extent. In most states you have to wait until your 21 or 25 to get Felonies commited when you were a Juvenile erased.. you will fill out the papers, and then you will have to appear before a judge.. and it will all depend on how you did on probation, if you have had any more charges since then, and how your doing now.. Your criminal record is always there and will not go away. Not that I have one, but criminal records always bits you in the backside when you grow up. |
