Please advise how to write a mitigation letter to judge of juvenile. If I am guilty on a theft case and i am fist offender.Currently Iam at high school. Tks.?

I would start the letter off with. Your Honer.

Then go into the body of the letter and the things that you wish to tell the Judge about your self and why he/she should go easy on you. Talk about your goals in life, what you want to do with your life. Also let him know how ashamed you are of your self for what you have done. What ever you do be totally honest and forthright, and do not lie to him/her. Believe me they get these letters all the time from people that are in trouble and want to make a good impression. They can spot a line when they hear and even read it. So do be totally honest with him/her.

Remember be honest with him/her and tell the truth. Be sympathetic for the person that your robbed. Let him know that you feel badly for hurting this person, by doing what you did.

Ask him/her for a second chance so that you can prove to them that you can be a good person. Let them know as I said what your plans are for your self, what you want to be doing when you are an adult. Let him know how you don't want a record that will make it harder for you to accomplish your goals in your life.

Best of luck to you. I hope it all works out for you. Keep it together for your self, you only have one life and you don't want to make a mess out of it when your so young. I'm not preaching to or at you, so don't get me wrong. I just hate to see some one mess up their life.

Remember that every thing that you do can affect you later in life when your trying to get a good job, or if your trying to get into a good college. Make some good strong plans for your self, so that you can do better for your self in life.

I'm not sure of the exact format, but I would bring up the argument that you are a first time offender - it may work in your favor. Also, use spell check. A judge won't be pleased if you if sign your letter "Tks."
