Juveniles comment 50% of all sex offenses. Shouldn't they be punished as harshly as adults?

And shouldn't they be registered as adults are?

For all the world to see?

Hey Cork, his facts are correct - at least in Washington state. Several years ago I had a pervert teenager living around the corner from me. He'd committed sexual crimes SEVERAL TIMES and was never locked up, NOT ONCE! He was given probation and "therapy", and this kid was an overall menace to society. And juvenile sex offenders are NOT REQUIRED to register as sex offenders. As a matter of fact, their juvenile record is sealed as soon as they turn 18. So you could be living next door to a multiple sex offender and never know it, since juveniles are not required to do much of anything at all, including go to jail.

give them three warnings.

Depends on the crime & the individual.

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR FACTS???????????????

Harshly punished for commenting?! I hardly think so! lol

I agree, especially since adult age is 18, but at a much earlier age people know when they are doing something wrong. And as for that who thing about ruining the rest of their lives, they are ruining the rest of someone elses life, so they deserve the same.

Yes they should so that is doesnt happen again!

I think it depends on the crime and age of the offender. If the sex offense is like touching someone's *** without permission they should be given a second chance. Rape, molestation and that type of thing.. well yeah they should be punished and registered the same.

WOW! Adult sex offenders are punished harshly? A drug addict gets more time in this country,U.S. , than a sex offender.

If you can do the crime, you can do the time,

yes they should be tried and punished like adults. Just like adults, they don't see nor do they care about the damaging effects of a sexual offense on a victim.

The law deems those under 18 to be less life experienced and capable of making sensible decisions than adults. Which is right, just because a 16 year old thinks he knows everything doesn't mean its true. Of those 50% how many would be a consenting teenage couple of the similar age? Do they deserve to be punished? I don't think so.

How about posting a link or something? I didn't see this and find it pretty hard to believe....

Yes I do...right along with their parents and idiot dip chits who dreamed up the present day BS on how to discipline children today. Only returning to the good old days of using the wood shed and giving corporal punishment back to teachers is going to straighten out the youth today. It's gotten so bad we have to have police in our schools today to control kids. I don't deny that some parents went a too far with punishments that were child abuse, and they were handled by the police but I don't recall any kids being killed over it. Today we have kids killing kids in school because there is no control because of the stupid methods that were forced by a few who didn't like the old method.
Enough said by me but facts are facts.
