Who owns the intellectual property rights to posts you put on an internet forum? |
is it the poster or the owner of the forum. The copyright law provides that the creator of the work--i.e., the person who wrote the post or the letter--owns the copyright. The blog creaor has a license to display the derivative work, i.e., the blog or forum, but has no copyright in the contributed work. 17 USC 103. I'm not sure if i understand what you mean but i could imagine that anything you put on an internet forum belongs to the owners of the forum... Internet has grown beyond any country laws.At present material posted in internet are not subject to IPR unless it is mentioned that the material is subject to copyright act/rules.
