What are some similarities and differences between the legal protections available for real and intelelctual properties Similarity: You can't use either type without the consent of the owner of the property. Just like you can't take your neighbor's lawnmower and use it without their permission, you can't use a song in a promotion without the owners permission.
Difference: You are allowed to "sample" intellectual property (use a few sentences from a book for a review, for example) without permission, but you really can't do that with your neighbor's lawnmower. |
