How do I deal with this problem?

My girlfriend was with her ex for almost two years.. They bought a foreclosure house in Feb 2007. But my girlfriend's ex was a professional kick boxer and fighter so he was gone in Asia or Japan a lot. When he was home, he was always busy fixing the house up. So she was unhappy so they break up.

They sold the house and got $40,000 in profit. However my girlfriend's ex refuse to give her any percent. He say he's one who put downpayment for the house, repair the house, and pay for the house while my girlfriend paid only half of the bills. So he feel that my girlfriend doesn't deserve any moneys from the profit.

Now my girlfriend have been having a lot of problem with trying to support herself, making a car payment, and other things. She also is unable to get in college this semester because she cannot afford it.
So we and couple of my friends have been asking him to give us the moneys for a while.

He never listened and refuse to give anything. I sent a couple friends to ask him to give us the moneys. He never did. So on Friday, I and a couple of my friends went up to him. Two of my friends have bats, we didn't plan on use it, we just want to make him realize we aren't playing any more. It get ugly when he mock us for being much bigger than him and need bats. One of my friend got mad so he grab this guy by shirt. This guy just go nut and attacked my friend. So we all get scared and got lost in the heat and jumped him then ran away when he was unable to fight any more.

Yesterday early morning, I got a call from one of my friend who was with me when we jumped this guy. I learned that he got attacked by this guy just a couple hours after we jumped him. My friend say he cannot walk properly because his leg is hurting, lose four teeth, cannot see out of one eye and is pissing blood. He say he is waiting to see if his sight will come back in a bit before he go to doctor because he doesn't have insurance plus he's afraid that he'll get everybody in big trouble since we used bat on this guy.

This guy just texted my girlfriend to mock her about how all of us cannot take him out for good and that we picked the wrong weapons. He also told her to tell me I better get all of my friends together and turn ourselves into polices because he'll come after each one of us and if we try to take this to court, we'll just get in lot more trouble than he did.

I don't know what to do. One of my other friend really want to kill him now because he's so terrified of this guy especially since this guy got beat up badly then manage to take on other guy and do a lot of damages just a couple hours afterward. My girlfriend is begging me to get everyone and turn ourselves into police. There's mixed on feeling about what to do. I already told everybody if they try to kill him, I'll turn ourselves in. I prefer to go up to him and make him shut up, but everybody is telling I'm nut for thinking of taking on this guy.

If you are lucky he will go to the police instead and have you arrested. You should turn yourselves in.

You are a coward anyway to have to take friends with you to jump a man who is alone.

Your girlfriend has no right to part of the profit from the house he sold unless they were married when he bought it, or had a written contract. She just got to live in his house till she got tired of him and left him. And it sounds as if she didn't do any of the work to fix it up either.

She should get a job.

Good Luck in prison.

What a mess, first of all if they bought the house together then it should have been in both their names. If he forged her signature when selling the house he will go to jail.

As far as the fight, well actually this guy didn't owe you or your friends anything. If I were you I would back off and hope this all dies down, but if it doesn't then I would swallow my pride and apologize to him. Courts and atty fees will be more than swallowing your pride. And you were WRONG.

First off if this guy is a professional Fighter/kickboxer his hands may be registered as lethal weapons. Second off if I was the guy who you all jumped and I saw any of you again I would use my skills to fight you. Now I don't know how well you know defense or fighting but this guy is trained to do it.

From a Legal stand point if it goes to court he's right you will get in more trouble because you approached him with bats and your friend made the first aggresive move by grabbing his shirt. At that point he can say self defense. Now him coming after your friend later is now on his head because he then attacked him and has caused physical damage. So you and the ex bf are both looking at assault and both with deadly weapons his hands and your bats or intent to murder or premeditated manslaughter. Both of the last ones are far fetched but possible
I wouldn't suggest taking him on or confronting him again because once he sees you he won't want to talk he's only gonna think enough to fight. At this point you have 3 options. 1 wait to see if this blows over or 2 wait to see if he turns you into police, or 3 wait to see if he comes after each of you and tries to hurt or kill you.

At this point within a couple days his wounds will begin to heal and he will regain strength. Which means no sign of you jumping him. And then he has no case unless he seeks medical attention.

Murder obviously isn't the answer. However your friends injuries are going to be obvious for days. So take pictures now incase he comes after you in court and show the judge proof that he attacked him.
Its possible that if he says he was jumped you can deny it and say that the injuries he has came from the fight with your friend. But your going to have to come up with a full story to do it.

Honestly its best to let it go. But if you really feel you need to do something....then do it but if the police haven't come knocking yet. Your fine. But make sure syou get pics of your friends injuries.

I know I prolly sound crazy but I was in a situation kinda like this and was prepared to jump a man and prethought of all this. Hope this helps

From a lawyer. I can tell you this is going to go wrong and when it does you will probably be charged with accomplice to murder or something. If I were you I would leave the state until it blows over.
