Y is Medication expensive for those who are Dependent on it? Such as Cancer, HIV, Hemophiliacs, etc. patients?

I just found out that Hemophiliacs have to pay $2 per unit for there factor medication. Now I know that some patients have to receive over 500 units a week. In other words, if u have a patient A who needs this factor medication once a week because its a necessity for them. This Patient A is paying 1,000 a week for his/her medication if he/she doesn't have insurance. That's 4,000 a month. THAT'S INSANE...

What's going on here? Why do these patients have to suffer more than they have to. I cant imagine what cancer patients and other terminal ill patients have to pay for. People create medicine to find a cure or to at least minimize the patients conditions to a certain illness. People donate millions of dollars to companies to find a cure. THEY DONATE!!! So, how come once a cure if found they turn around and charge a patient 1000 for medication that they were sponsored to find themselves. Are there people who fight against this type of stuff? If so, who?

How do you guys feel about that? Some of you may not be concerned about this until you or someone you love have to deal with this type of situation. In my case that is the situation. Im not saying give this medicine out for free but make it reasonable for patients to afford the medication themselves if they are denied insurance. I dont know anyone personally who is pocketing an extra 1000 in there pocket a week. People have to live in this economy and have to feed there children while providing a roof over there heads.

Well, that's all I have to say. For those who have to go through this ordeal God Bless You.

Yes it is, and for those that plan on voting republican in November. A word to you folks, read and understand what John McCain is proposing when it comes to insurance. It's related costs You and your employer will have to deal with. If you do read it, and you do understand it, and you still plan on voting for the republican ticket, you must have more money than brains. That is all I can say.

The philosophy taken is that they go for smaller numbers of capital with larger groups so they have to take less money. This is a good way to generate revenue, but when it isn't done at the higher levels of business along with the lower ones it seems like a directed attack of class warfare.

Medicine is expensive no matter the reason for taking it. That is why we pay out of pocket for insurance. Same as liability insurance on our cars and fire insurance on our houses. The failure of people to realize what is a priority in their lives, buying health ins. versus that 100. a month cell phone bill. is not the governments fault.
