I got into an accident 2years ago, it was my fault, now they're sueing me, help?

this happened at a stop sign because i didnt look carefully and hit another car when i was passing the intersection...im pretty sure i only hit the driverside rim. My car got totalled, her car wasnt...it was perfectly fine...i was only doin like 5mph or so..I was 16 back then..

there were a driver and another passenger...it was an old lady..so now they sued me cuz of her injuries and soreness and nightmares and emotional distress n can't sleep and stuff...

i was using triple A insurance bak then, now im under a new insurance...so does Triple A still effective for this case?

Yes, Triple AAA will continue to handle the case. In fact, Triple AAA has never been OFF this case. They still have to provide a lawyer for you should this go to court, they're still on the hook for whatever damages or settlements were called for by your policy with them.

It's normal in a car accident for the "injured party" to not file suit against the other driver until just days before the statute of limitations runs out. I was in an accident 4 years ago and got served with the lawsuit paperwork just 2 days before the deadline. And like you, I had changed insurance companies in the years since the accident. It does tie you into knots. But in the end, there's not much you can do and the insurance company is going to try to settle before it ever goes to court.

At least I had a witness who could have testified that this lady got out of her car and was screaming, "I'm going to sue! You're going to buy me a new car and a new house, b*tch!" She was also suing for medical problems that had existed for years before the wreck. Insurance ended up settling and she got some money to pay some of her expenses, but she sure didn't get the 7-figures she asked for.

Triple A will take care of everything, IF you reported the accident to them at the time it occurred. If not, then you may be out of luck. Check your policy. Most policies require an insured to immediately report to the insurance company any incident or event that could reasonably result in a lawsuit or claim.

If Triple A won't cover you, then you'd better consult an attorney.
