Dog bit a kid that was over playing, city charges...? |
The city has already put the dog down since we didn't have tags or a shot record, sent him off for rabies testing. The city issued two tickets today one for the non-tags and one for dangerous dog. The dog was chained up in my yard, the kids were playing football and the child went to go get the ball and he bit him pretty good. What are my legal rights? We had to have him put down due to what the officer told us, otherwise they would have taken us to court, we have offered the parents that we will pay for everything, hospital related, was told we have to pay the bills from the city. The city pays the hospital bills and then we have to pay them back. Please give me input on this situation. I have homeowners insurance but will they cover for a dog that I don't have a shot record for? big mistake on your part. the parents can also sue you for pain and suffering. i'm seeing thousands of dollars gone. sorry I'm afraid that there is nothing you can do, the proof that the kid was bit so bad that he had to go to the hospital is there. If you just say it wasn't your dog, but it's too late for that |
