How could Sarah Palin Billed Rape Victims?

This is so cruel and infuriating!!

When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, the city billed sexual assault victims and their insurance companies for the cost of rape kits and forensic examinations.

Palin had been in office for four years when the practice of charging rape victims got the attention of state lawmakers in 2000, who passed a bill to stop the practice.

Former Democratic Rep. Eric Croft, who sponsored that bill, said he was disappointed that simply asking the Wasilla police department to stop didn't work. Croft said he doubts she was unaware of the practice.

That is so inhumane

Interesting idea. A town, billing for the cost of law enforcement. I realize that it sounds harsh, but no where did the article say that a victim was denied an investigation because they could not pay. Also, under victim/witness laws, they could have had the courts force the criminal to reimburse the victim for their financial lose. I wonder if other small towns are now going to consider billing for law enforcement work as another way to lighten the tax burden on citizens. Police and Fire Departments already bill for answering alarm calls.

I can not believe there were so many rapes in a town of 6000 that the mayors office needed to worry about billing the victims. That is a real problem.

But, remember, she's confident that she can be a good President if the time comes.

I have to go throw up now.

OMG!! THAT IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS!!

Haven't we seen this question a few times in the last few days?

Pretty soon, liberals will be demanding that everyone else pay their taxes for them.

(Oh wait, the rich already do! Sorry, my bad...)
