What happens if u leave the scene of an accident, and it wasnt your fault but later you file for hit and run? |
OKAY here goes, a driver hit me passenger rear, it was his fault, but since i didnt renew my vehicle tags i run ( i did have insurance though) i later renewed my tags and filed for hit and run at the same location but one hour later (SO THAT I COULD FIX MY CAR). I tried to pick up my report, but when i got there i also found out that the driver who was at fault also filed a police report at that location ( he didnt get my tag numbers because he was to busy talking on the cell phone and probably why he hit me). So now the police station might be suspicious of this accident they have my driver license number because i requested to get a report of another accident at that location, DO YOU THINK THEY WILL GO AFTER ME??? so later i didnt get any reports because the one they had was me as the runner... dont ever just leave the scene of an accident even if it isnt your fault its illegal and i think the police will be able to connect the dots they arent mentally challenged so you might wanna get a lawyer cuz you might be in a bit of a pickle You never ever are supposed to run from an accident no matter what. Even if the guy who hit you was chasing you with a knife although I would because the jail sentence would be better than getting stabbed. If you run from an accident you do have to go to court for it and they do review what happened so make sure you get a good lawyer. uh...you hit and ran; in an unregistered vehicle. well, you shouldnt have ran...now it complicates the whole situation...I suggest you to notify your insurance and explain the whole incident to get them on your side. im pretty sure ur SOL If you get into a minor accident and exchange insurance info with the other person or people, and then leave you are ok. If you get in an accident and run, that will get a warrant issued for you, " Hit and Run", now your insurance company can say, to bad for you. If anybody was injured in the other vehicle, you could be facing some serious charges. You opened a big can of worms. I would contact your local PD and get this taken care of immediately. |
