Lawyer won't call back!!?

I was hit by another driver in a car accident. I went to the doctor for back pain and continued physical therapy and chiropractic treatment under legal and medical advise. The other driver's insurance refused to pay the medical expenses and my lawyer decided to hand the case to me and go to small claims court. He said that once the judgment is handed down to give him a call and he'll help me settle the medical bills. The judge ruled against my filing and now I'm stuck with $4,000 in medical bills. I went to the chiropractor and physical therapy under his and my doctor's advise.
I called my attorney but the guy will NOT call me back. Can I report him anywhere?

You should definitely report him to your state's Bar Association. Reprot him and sue him for malpractice!

Meanwhile, get a new attorney before your statute of limitations expires.

You can file a complaint with your state's attorney licensing body. That could be your State's Supreme Court's Grievance Commission, your State's Bar Association, etc. However, complaints against attorneys on this level are usually not pursued. The attorney may receive a letter warning him not to engage in the same conduct again, but no real penalty will come of it unless he has had many complaints filed against him for the same thing.

One thing, you say that you were advised by his doctor AND your doctor. A case could certainly be made that your doctor advised you to take this therapy and thus you are liable to pay. So, if you have the money, pay the bill and move on. If you do not have the money, call the doctor's office and work out either a reduction in the bills or a payment plan. If you have health insurance of your own, file a claim with them and see what happens. It certainly can't hurt.

It's called the State Bar Association. Call them and ask what you should do.
