Small Claims Court Worthy?

My Doctor sent some blood work to a lab that was not covered by my insurance I am now stuck with a $400 bill from the lab. I have called the Doctors office & they basically said there was nothing they could do sorry. Any other time of gone to the Dr. or Dentist & something was not covered they let me know so I could have the option of continuing treatment or not. What's my best course of action? Is this small claims worthy?

I would say probably not. Doctors don't ask for lab work unless they feel it's necessary. They don't always know if your insurance will cover it or not. Plus, you sign documents with your doctor's office that states whatever your insurance doesn't cover that you will cover it. I know I have to sign one each time I go to the doctor. I don't think you could ever win a small claims case like that.

call a lawyer, and ask.you get a free half hour thru your local legal aid clinic.good luck.
