If my employer moves 17 miles away from it's current location, can I collect unemployment insurance? |
Well i already work 40 miles from their offices. and the additional mileage stinks. So I thought to find out if when they move I could collect while looking for a new job closer to home. Most states won't authorize unless the change is over 50 miles. I doubt it, but I would suggest you call your unepmployment office to find out! Normally, quitting a job is not grouinds for collecting unemploymernt. That doesn't explain why your unemployed. Did you quite because they moved? Quitting automatically disqualifies you from collecting. If your laid off that's a different story. Go get a job. Not if they do not lay you off. It is not there concern about how far you live away from work. |
