What should be done if there is a crash between car and bicycle with injury?

Doctor
Police
Insurance

All three. At the scene, 911 should have been called. After the parties have left the scene, not police report will be made. (At least in Virginia. My husband was forced off the road by a garbage truck and side-swiped a neighbor's car as a reuslt. The truck left the scene and my husband told the neighbor directly. Since the police were called later, they would not file a report because it was not at the scene.)

If the police were not called, then the injured parties still shoudl seek medical attention and the motorist should give the cyclist his/her insurance information.

If the car ran into the cyclist, the motorist's insurance will cover the cyclist's injuries and property damage (bicycle). (collision and liability insurance) If the motorist has comprehensive coverage, then the damage to his own car would be covered as well. This all can differ from state to state. Best to check the motorist's policy.

If it was the other way around, one would need proof so that the mototrist's insurance would not be charged for the medical bills. This could prove to be difficult. Call insurance anyway to report it. Let their lawyers and claims adjusters sort it out. That is what they are paid to do.

Same as any other RTA.... Police, Ambulance (normally both turn up around the same time with one 999 call) then insurance a bit later.

Depending on who's fault it is, of course, as a cyclist in the UK does not legally require insurance. If it's the cyclists fault, it's a tad more difficult as the car owner would have to claim directly from the cyclist and not an insurance company.

If it's the car driver to blame, then it's much simpler.

Both the driver of the car and the cyclist should go to the police and report the accident within 24 hours. You don't say how bad the injury was and to whom, but if it is only slight, it is probably not advisable to call an ambulance, as these are circumstances in which the hospital is entitled to present the person concerned with a bill. However, it is wise to go to one's GP in order to have a record of the injury to present as evidence if need be.

The motorist is normally obliged to report any accident which might give rise to a claim to his insurance company, but sometimes (where not much damage is done) this can be settled privately without reference to the insurance company and consequent loss of no claims bonus. The cyclist may be protected (oddly enough) by his household insurance, depending on the policy, in which case his insurance company might want to sue the motorist. It the cyclist is at fault, the motorist's insurance company might wish to bring an action against him to recover any damage to the car.

All this is much too vague to answer accurately!

you fail to mention where you live, which always helps as laws differ all over, but the general rule is that a collision involving a car is a reportable offense to the police. Involving a bike or a pedestrian is definitely a incident you must report.
As far as a doctor, use some common sense. If someone is hurt yes, if not no.

As far as insurance..did you cause damage? Would you like sadi damage paid for? Then Yes, notifying your insurance may be the smart idea as well as required by many insurance companies within 24 hours of said accident.

You should just know this
Injury = all of those
Depending on how bad the injury is, go to the police then to the doctor get his suggestions on if there is a need for phisio ext.. then to the insurance to see what is covered or will be covered.

Using the SE like google or yahoo to get some hints first if you want to obtain the massive information,if you do not want to spend too much time,here is a good resource for your reference about your questions.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

When you call for the ambulance the insurance finds out automatically as the NHS bills them for treatment. Police don't usually attend unless you state that you believe there has been driving under the influence.

Call an ambulance first, then call the police and then when the police have finished the intial enquires call your insurance company.

well in uk i dont think insurance companies cover bicycles crashing into cars, it can be a criminal act so police can be involved well if cyclist or motorist dont leave the scene and if u r injured u should goto doctor as a matter of fact

Doctor = save the cyclist's life
Police = Make sure no one else gets hurt
Insurance = fix the damage

doctor duh
